Spam and Phishing Emails
Modified on: Tue, Feb 27 2024 1:18 PMIf it was just spam (not an attempt to get personal information), block the sender in Outlook and delete. Do this by right-clicking on the spam email and then hovering over Junk in the menu that pops out. Then choose Block Sender.
If it was phishing (an attempt to get personal information), do the following -
If you are using the Outlook desktop application:
If you open the email, you can click Report Phish at the top-right and then delete the email.
If the top bar is in the collapsed view, you can click the three dots on the far-right of the menu and then choose Report Phish from the drop-down menu.
If you are using Outlook webmail:
You can select the email that needs to be reported and then click on the Shield icon that is on the left side of the option bar, to the right of the New Mail button on the option bar. Once you have clicked on the Shield icon, choose Report phishing from the dropdown menu.
